Before & After

1 / 1

Process & Treatments

Your Course of Care starts with a thorough two-stage Consultation and Assessment process designed to ensure the best possible outcome for your oral health and facial aesthetics. You may either complete both your Consultation and Assessment in one in-office visit, or have your Consultation via video session, followed by an in-office Assessment.

Consultation

During your Consultation, we will take the time to answer all your questions and listen carefully to your thoughts about your treatment. This initial discussion is completely free of charge, and helps us understand your goals and ensures that we are aligned in creating a treatment plan tailored to your needs.

Assessment

Your Assessment involves a detailed evaluation of your case, which includes photos and/or video of your face and teeth, X-rays, and scans of your teeth and soft tissue. This comprehensive review provides the data we need to create a precise treatment plan.

Following your Assessment, Dr. Horani will provide an initial recommendation for your Course of Care, addressing both your oral health and enhancing your facial aesthetics.

Your Course of Care May Include…

Based on your unique needs and best outcome, your Course of Care may involve a combination of treatments, including braces, clear aligners, and, if necessary, orthognathic surgery. Dr. Horani will recommend the optimal treatment plan for you, ensuring that each step is designed to achieve the best possible results for your oral health and facial harmony.

We view your Course of Care as an investment in both time and cost, as it is a comprehensive approach to improving both your dental function and appearance. Dr. Horani will guide you every step of the way, ensuring that you receive the most effective and personalized care.

Braces

Traditional

Traditional braces are the most common type of orthodontic treatment, using metal brackets and wires to gradually shift teeth into place. They are highly effective for correcting a variety of dental issues, from misalignment to bite problems.

Clear

Clear braces offer a more discreet option with transparent brackets that blend in with your natural teeth. They provide the same effectiveness as traditional braces while being less noticeable.

Self-Ligating

Self-ligating braces use a specialized clip instead of elastic bands to hold the wire in place, reducing friction and treatment time. These braces often require fewer visits to the orthodontist and are more comfortable.

Twin Brackets

Twin brackets are a type of traditional braces with separate brackets for each tooth, providing precise control over tooth movement. They are highly effective for complex cases and offer a reliable solution for achieving optimal alignment.

Invisalign®

Invisalign clear aligners are a discreet and comfortable alternative to traditional braces, using a series of removable trays to gradually shift teeth into place. They are virtually invisible, allowing you to straighten your teeth without drawing attention to your treatment.

These aligners are custom-made to fit your teeth and are designed to be worn for about 20-22 hours a day. With the flexibility to remove them for eating or brushing, clear aligners offer convenience alongside effective results.

Orthognathic Surgery

Orthognathic surgery, also known as jaw surgery, is a procedure used to correct severe bite issues and jaw misalignments. It is typically recommended when orthodontic treatments alone cannot address the problem. This surgery improves both function and appearance by repositioning the upper and lower jaws.

Orthognathic surgery is often necessary for patients with significant jaw discrepancies that affect chewing, speaking, or breathing. It can also help alleviate discomfort from TMJ disorders or sleep apnea caused by jaw misalignment. In many cases, surgery is combined with braces to achieve the best results.

Recovery from orthognathic surgery can take several weeks, with patients typically wearing braces before and after the procedure. Post-surgery care focuses on managing swelling, pain, and maintaining a proper diet. While the recovery period requires patience, the long-term benefits of improved function and appearance are well worth the effort.
